JOB TITLE:           Assistant NDT Technician                             FLSA CLASS: Hourly- Non Exempt

STATUS:               Full-time

DIVISION: Seattle, Washington              

REPORTS TO: Duncan McClure

International Inspection continuously updates NDE equipment and network information technology and promotes ongoing education of personnel at all levels. All technicians are certified to Levels I, II, or III in accordance with SNT-TC-1A of the American Society of Nondestructive Testing (ASNT). International inspection has ASNT-certified Level III personnel on staff for job evaluation and project management.

POSITION SUMMARY: International Inspection Inc. has an Assistant Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician position available located in Seattle, Washington. The Assistant NDT technician is part of a team that provides Radiographic (Gamma & X-Ray),Ultrasonic, Liquid Penetration, Visual, and Magnetic Particle testing and support to our wide range of international clients.

The team performs class surveys such as:
ASME, AWS, ABS, Lloyds, DNV, and GL as well as pre shipyard steel renewal assessments.

 As the assistant you would aid the Level II technician with the designated NDT method while gaining experience and knowledge in order to take level to level exams after on the job hour requirements are met.

 Essential Functions:

Preferred Individuals will possess documented classroom training hours in: RT, UT, MT, PT, and VT from an accredited NDT school.

Qualified individuals will have experience interpreting engineering drawings and following written audit guidelines as well as being a fast and independent learner.

This person must also be able to work in confined spaces, heights, and be willing to sail with a vessel.
Individual must have basic computer skills including MSWord, Excel, and CAD.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION & TRAINING: 

Each candidate must be able to provide proof of:

High School Diploma, GED, or College Certification
ASNT/SNT-TC-1A Documented training

Valid Drivers License

Clean driving record

Legally authorized to work in the United States

TWIC preferred

Divers encouraged to apply

WORKING CONDITIONS:

NDT Technicians may work in confined spaces or be subject to heights. Must be comfortable in all working situations. Must be comfortable working in areas around machinery with extreme noise levels. Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection. May be at more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes. May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis.

Pay: Commensurate with experience and qualifications

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

NDT Technicians must be able to lift up to 50lbs of gear and materials, must be able to be on your feet for long periods of time. Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to communicate effectively. Sufficient vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodations, which permits the employee to investigate. Sufficient manual dexterity with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to perform routine duties. Sufficient personal mobility to maneuver within a marine vessel or industrial environment to include the ability to gain access to elevated platforms via narrow ladders and stairwells.
